Technology is an ever-changing field of study and work. Unlike many disciplines such as Finance or Civil Engineering, which tend to stay static as far as subject knowledge is concerned, technology develops at an increasing pace almost yearly. The technology tools and information we used five or ten years ago to get our job done have changed to a degree that most of those older tools are irrelevant today. There are exceptions to this such as email; however, the changes that technology presents to us regularly present a challenge to properly guide its usage. To that end, the Town has established the attached policies, procedures and plans to govern how we use Town technology assets.

The Town's Email, Internet and Computer Use policy governs how we utilize our laptops, tablets and computer workstations here at Town Hall and while we're in the field or away at a conference. Our Cellular Usage and Stipend policy governs how we use our cellular devices. It also provides a stipend opportunity for those of us whose job requires a cell phone, but would rather have only one device. The Technology Division maintains a Service Level Agreement with and for the Town to provide expected levels of service for Town staff regarding their service requests. Finally, the Town's Technology Master Plan (formerly called the Strategic Technolgy Plan) provides guidance for implementing new technology into the Town's environment.

All policies, procedures and plans are attached.
