Great question!
Why won't our system dial 9 (and a 1 if necessary) for you? Why do you need to manually key in the number? The answer to the first question is: it's complicated. While there are a number of ways to attempt to accomplish this in our phone system, depending on our hardware and firmware the result could lead to unexpected calling service problems. While we hope that in the near future with updated equipment and firmware we can do this, it isn't probable at this time.
The answer to the second question (and the title of this article) is YOU CAN! You will need a little assistance from the Edit dial button on your Cisco phone screen:
- Select the Missed calls button (second down on the right side of the screen)
- Select the number you wish to dial
- On the menu below the Missed calls screen press the ellipse (...) button (forth button on the bottom right)
- Press the Edit dial button (second one from the bottom left)
- Input a 9 (and a 1 if necessary)
- Press the Call button (second one from the bottom left)
That's it! No more writing down numbers or trying to remember them.
