Printers are great when they work, but can be frustrating when they refuse to complete a job for us. There are a number of reasons why a printer won't print: it could be out of paper, the bypass tray may be opened or there could be a network problem. To begin troubleshooting see if there are any error messages displayed when you try to print. These messages may appear on your computer in the lower right-hand corner (by the time and date) and/or on the printer itself. Usually when an error is present on the machine the display will walk you through a remedy such as removing a printer jam. If no error is present then rebooting your computer is the next step. After your computer starts back up and you log in, try to print again. If nothing happens you can look at the printer's 'queue' to see if a large document may be stuck. To open the queue: type 'control panel' into the search box located at the lower left of your screen (by the old 'Start' menu), under 'Hardware and Sound' choose 'View devices and printers', right-click the printer you're trying to use and choose 'See what's printing'. If there's a large document in there you may be able to cancel it by choosing the document and then 'Cancel' from the 'Document' drop-down.
If none of those steps helped, feel free to contact us. We'll get you back up and printing ASAP.
